Denim Dogs Fashion Blast Ambassadorable: Emma the Super Dog

By M.G.Mauney

Meet Emma the Super Dog, one of our DogStar models in the Mister Migs Denim Dogs Fashion Blast!

Emma Border Collie

What’s that in the sky? Is it a bird? A plane? No, it’s Emma, also known as Super Dog! This four year old Border Collie mix rose from humble beginnings in the Atlanta Humane Society to become an indie film star. She’s been in Jabberwocky, a Nestea commercial, and is slated to be the titular star of Super Dog in 2015. This heart-wrenchingly beautiful story will feature a boy with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) struggling to let go of his imaginary dog, played by Emma. It was produced by an Atlanta-based studio, Bontrager Twins Productions, and premiers this September at the International Burbank Film Festival.

“Emma did a fantastic job for me while on set.  She loved being able to show off what she does best.  There were several commands she needed to perform including dig, kiss, stay (for long periods), back up and hit her mark. She made me really proud,” says her human mom, Jen. “Being a movie star mom is pretty easy for me because Emma loves being on set and the center of attention.  I do have to give her frequent breaks as she gets bored with all the retakes and the waiting that comes along with stardom!”

Emma hasn’t let fame go to her head either. Despite her superstar status, she still enjoys playing with other dogs and wants to be friends with everyone. She used to be an agility star as well, but had to quit due to hip dysplasia. However, she still keeps her super-figure in check by chasing squirrels; after all, she has to look good for her glamour shots! Indeed, nothing can keep this dog down---except for thunderstorms, her Kryptonite!

Be sure to catch the Super Dog release in September, and then come to see the real Emma in action November 7, at the Mister Migs Denim Dogs Fashion Blast!
